Golden Valley, Arizona

Golden Valley is an unincorporated area of about 28 square miles in Mohave County, in northwestern Arizona. The people in the area think of Golden Valley as one of the southwest's best kept secrets.

Nestled between the Cerbat and Black Mountains, along Arizona highway number 68, it can be described as a paradise. The desert comes alive with wildlife and mother nature lives in all her beauty.

The elevation is 2700 feet above sea level which means the temperatures are normally 10-15 degrees cooler in the summer than the Colorado River Valley. Winters are mild and it is rare to see snow. If it does snow, wait an hour and it will most likely be all gone.

There is a year round breeze that keeps us company all the time which is nice in the summer. You will enjoy the clear blue skies, beautiful vistas and sunsets.

Golden Valley is a nice place to live with a perfect climate of clean dry air, reasonable land/home prices, decent building codes. The population is around 12,000 and growing fast, and includes a mixture of retirees, business owners, and young families.

The churches make you feel welcome as a new-comer, and the over 100 businesses in Golden Valley are ready to help you with what you need. You will enjoy the clear blue skies, beautiful vistas and sunsets.

The county seat of Mohave County is Kingman, Golden Valley's neighbor 15 miles to the east. Major shopping now exists in Kingman including a Super Wall Mart, Home Depot, and a lot of places to eat. It is just like any major city urban suburb.

24 hour Fire Dept. and Paramedic services are available in Golden Valley and major hospitals are in Kingman and Bullhead City, each approximately 20 minutes away. Golden Valley is bisected east to west by state highway 68, which is the only northern link to Laughlin, Nevada, from I-40. Route 93 is along the east side of the valley and runs from Las Vegas to Phoenix.

Laughlin, one of Nevada's gambling towns with 11 casinos, lies on the Colorado River to the valley's west. The nearby excellent water areas for sports, beaches, great fishing and boating are fun for all. Cool mountains with big trees and plenty of hiking trails are an easy drive for the day.

And here is more good news, Golden Valley Medical Plaza, an extension of the Kingman Regional Medical Center, has broken ground and should be completed in 2005. It will include primary care services, visiting specialists, a medical equipment retailer and space for chiropractor, dentist and other practitioners.

Golden Valley has just about got to be the best place anyone could ever hope to live: Come spend a day, week, or month with the friendly folks of beautiful Golden Valley, and you may decide to stay a lifetime!
