|Twentynine Palms is a city in San Bernardino County, California, named for the palm trees located in the Oasis of Mara. Joshua Tree National Park headquarters is located here in the beautiful desert wilderness area.
When the area of Twentynine Palms was settled by gold miners in the late nineteenth century, there were 29 palm trees growing in the oasis, most of which are still standing today.

It is the premier training facility in the world for Marine operations and draws military personnel from all over the world for live fire Combined Arms Exercises.
